Specialized Stroke Unit

In a stroke, the brain suddenly stops functioning properly due to either low blood flow or bleeding in the brain.  Low-blood- flow strokes are called “ischemic” strokes, are usually caused by blockage of a brain artery by a blood clot and are emergencies.  If treated quickly enough with blood-clot breaker medicine, it is possible to reverse much of the devastating effect of an ischemic stroke.

Ischemic stroke patients are best cared for in our fully functional Stroke Unit dedicated Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
